Faith, Art, and the Courage to Be Free

Who I am

Every nation can flourish when truth and freedom walk together

I am a Catholic priest, a digital creator, a music creator, and, above all, a storyteller.

My life has always unfolded at the intersection of faith, culture, and creativity. The altar, the recording studio, the camera, the written word, and the simple joy of great music are not separate worlds to me—they are different ways of searching for the same truth: that beauty, goodness, and hope still have the power to transform people.

As a Catholic priest, my vocation is to accompany others through life’s greatest moments: joy and grief, celebration and suffering, faith and doubt. My ministry has taken me from parish life to hospice care, where I have learned that the deepest conversations often happen in life’s quietest moments. There, human dignity is never an abstract idea—it becomes something sacred.

Beyond the Church, I create music under the artistic name Rolph Ruben, exploring a sound that moves between electronic music, cinematic atmospheres, Latin roots, and contemplative landscapes. My artistic work seeks more than entertainment; it seeks wonder. Every melody is an invitation to pause, reflect, and rediscover the beauty hidden within everyday life. My music is available on all major streaming platforms under the name Rolph Ruben.

I also believe culture matters. Ideas matter. Freedom matters.

Having been born and raised in Cuba, my opposition to communism is not rooted in ideology alone, but in lived experience. I have witnessed what happens when governments suppress freedom of conscience, religious liberty, artistic expression, and the dignity of the individual. Because of that, I speak openly in defense of democracy, human rights, free societies, and the inalienable value of every human person. My convictions arise not from resentment, but from hope—a hope that every nation can flourish when truth and freedom walk together.

Whether through a homily, a photograph, a piece of music, an article, or a conversation, my purpose remains the same: to build bridges between faith and culture, tradition and innovation, contemplation and creativity.

If my work has a single message, it is this:

Faith should illuminate culture. Art should elevate the soul. And freedom should never be taken for granted.
